About Independent School Axis Axis is a 501(c)( 3) nonprofit organization that partners with Los Angeles area independent institutions to develop paths for underrepresented trainees and families of color to access, navigate, and flourish in private education and learning. Independent institutions do not properly stand for the total Los Angeles population, where over 70% of homeowners are individuals of color. Via our Axis friends, we sustain students and educators of shade as they access private education chances with our continuous advice. We also deal with Partner Schools across L.A. to make a lasting and transformative influence on their variety, equity, incorporation, and liability (DEIA) techniques. By holding colleges responsible for how they come close to and attend to DEIA, we can accomplish far better learning results for all students while also preparing them to become multiculturally proficient people.
